Session #8 - 10/28/08

Good night with the pulls, rough night with the presses. Oh well, I guess that's how it goes sometimes.

-Deadlift
225LBSx3
315LBSx3
390LBSx5
350LBSx5
Felt good pullin' the weight but ready for a few back off sessions.

-KB Press
40KGx1/1
36KGx5/5
Wanted to squeak out 2 or 3 per side but it felt real heavy right after the deadlifts. Maybe I should have waited a bit longer. We'll see how it goes next time I try the bulldog.

-Chin Up BWx5 3sets
Very happy with the way the elbow has been progressing. Today was the first day it felt loose before and after the session in quit a while.

-Swing 24KGx10 every 30 sec for 5min
Nice and light, just to move the hips with a quick snap after the heavy pulls. Nice to get the heart rate up as well.

rock on!! i guess you like having a bar!! did you see on the rkc forum where some guy did a suitcase dead with 205...i thought of you and all your "pipe n' chain" deads that you used to do...the good ol' days..lol...

don't sweat the press...just a thought - what if you substituted some tgu's or even bent press occasionally on your press portion...just an idea, i know you are greasing, but sometimes the moves that grant us the most problems can really be more mental exhausting; switching away for a session or 2 might be refreshing...brett jones made mention of the carry-over that tgu's have in pressing also...just an idea for those days that your MP is in the gutter...good job!! later, alan

Thanks man! I'm really having fun pullin' some weight again. I plan on switching the press a bit but I'm gonna wait till the end of this cycle to give it a rest for a few sessions. You gotta remember lss than 2 months ago I couldn't get the 40 half way up on a press when fresh, so it's still a heavy press pretty close to a 1RM for me.
